In April of 2012, Clover was released as an Android POS system. Over 500 employees are employed by the Sunnyvale-based firm. In the three months ending in September 2020, Clover handled an annualized total of $133 billion in card transactions, making it the biggest cloud POS vendor in the United States.

In December of 2012, First Data Corporation purchased Clover. Fiserv, a provider of banking services, purchased First Data Corporation in the middle of 2019. Integrated into the Clover Point-of-Sale system is a Fiserv store account, making it impossible to use Clover without Fiserv.
Clover Dashboard can be used once the necessary gear is in place. The gear is sold on the company’s website and through more than 3,000 retailers, including Citi, PNC, Wells Fargo, BBVA, SunTrust, and others.
